Henry Stewart Conference September 2013

In September 2013, Nick Pattie, Director at Whitebridge Hospitality, was invited as a speaker at the Henry Stewart Conference on Finance for Hotel Investment and Development in the UK and Continental Europe. Henry Stewart Conference Studies is the leading UK organiser of conferences and training courses for the property industry. The hotel sector conferences are organised twice a year and are always well-attended by hotel owners, operators, developers, investors, franchisors, funders, lawyers, agents and consultants. The topic for Nick's presentation was "Are there genuine bargains in the Eurozone periphery and can their acquisition be funded?" During this session Nick framed the opportunity by a) reviewing hotel performance trends in Budapest and Prague as proxy markets for the Eurozone periphery, b) comparing these with Western European hotel market trends and c) assessing indicative future hotel performance and value. Nick also provided examples of recent hotel deals and current opportunities in the Eurozone periphery.
